Ok next question - Bassinet to Crib transition
I'm making up for lost time today!
DD is 3 months old (well, as of next week) and she's almost too long for her bugaboo bassinet, which is what she's been sleeping in since birth (we didnt do the moses basket thing). Pretty soon she won't fit in it any more, but I hate the though of putting her in the crib already, mostly because it doesnt fit in our bedroom so we'd be sleeping apart from her (my ped encourages sleeping the baby in the room with us until 6 months to help prevent SIDS, etc).
For those Moms who had the baby sleeping in your bedroom, when did you make the transition to the crib and how did it go?

Re: Ok next question - Bassinet to Crib transition
We ended up putting DS in the crib (in his own room) at around 4 months. It actually went really well. But truthfully, he has been (knock on wood) a pretty easy going baby anyway.
He was/still is swaddled. I think that helped b/c even though he is in a bigger area, he still feels warm and snug.
Good luck!

I feel your pain....we haven't done it yet and DS is 7 months - he is in our bed!! I need to do it.
Have you a monitor? that might help you....or not!! I am of no use as I keep meaning to move my little fella and I keep making excuses not to...

I do have a monitor (the angel care) and you'd think I'd feel better about it but I don't! My first baby - can you tell!? I just hate the thought of her being a whole room away! LOL...
I just wondered what age people have found it best to make that transition...

Re: Ok next question - Bassinet to Crib transition
Hi Grace, good to see you! We had Tristan in a moses basket by the side of the bed for the first 8 weeks. But he was getting too big for it and hitting the sides with his arms and waking himself up. We put him in his own room in the crib at that point and to be honest, we all slept a lot better! We weren't waking him by being too loud and he wasn't disrupting us with every little grunt and grumble.
It'll get easier, I promise!
Now how about some pics???

Re: Ok next question - Bassinet to Crib transition
I plan on making the change in another two months. We have a small house, so his room is right across this tiny hallway... my bed actually faces his crib if I lay on my side LOL, so he's about the same distance away from me in his crib as if he was in his basinette. I will be using the monitor still for I wont be able to hear him as well... but I do keep him swaddled.. I also use the sleep positioner since he already tries to roll over...I don't want him swaddled and roll over...and not be able to move back...KWIM?
