Ok, does a place like this exist?
So, I need some guidance on childcare options. We've never had to worry about finding a center or a sitter for Ava since JT always worked in the evening and watched her all day, but now, his new job will be overnights, and that means that we need someone to watch Ava during the day while JT sleeps. My mom will be watching her on Mon/Fri, so that's good, but then Tue/Wed/Th we were hoping to find a program that will take her for like a nursery program, but from like noon-5. Does that exist or will I need to get a sitter? I really rather have a school or center for her so she can interact with other kids, but I have no idea where to start looking or what kind of programs are out there. Anyone care to steer me in a direction?

Not sure exactly how old she is or where you are located but, in Suffolk, I would start with the Child Care Council. Depending on how close to 3 she is, I bet you can find pretty close to what you are looking for.

I don't know a place but good luck!
DH works overnights and I work days. If he's lucky, he gets 2 or 2 1/2 hours of sleep during DD's naps. Once I get home he goes to sleep for 2-3 hours. The schedule is really hard on him.

At nursery school age, you probably have more options than I do for an infant/toddler. We have part time day care. On our assigned days, we pay for an 8 hour day, but we often only use 5-6 hours. Our center is super flexible and sometimes I have needed a longer day and they accommodated me. We rarely switch days but if they have room, they allow it. Where are you looking?

I know you don't live near me but DD's preschool has flexible days/hours, etc... I don't think you should have a problem finding something like that near you, good luck!

I think you're out east, but I'm not sure how far out east. DH's sister works for the North Fork Early Learning Center in Laurel (next to Mattituck). They seem to have very flexible full day and half day programs.

This is our schedule too.
Christopher is most likely going to pre-school in the fall so that a few days a week Chris will be able to sleep a little longer.
But Chris' schedule rotates (like this week, its only Wed-Thur-Friday)

I do not know the name of the place, but a coworker sends her 3 year old to a school using these times (I think he goes 12-4), so they do exist. GL!

Re: Ok, does a place like this exist?
Yes, there are lots of places like that. The preschool Molly goes to has a program like that. You drop them off for lunch and they they go in to the afternoon class and if she is there longer, she stays for an extended day. Actually, all the places I looked at had some flexibility. Also, all the places like Tutor Time, KinderKare, etc, typically have a program that runs like that.
