Re: OK --- some heat questions

We don't do oil so I can't help with that but we keep our heat:

67 during the day (I put it up to 69 when we first wake up and come downstairs)

66 while we're sleeping.

We have programable thermostat.

Re: OK --- some heat questions

We have a programmable thermostat so...
60 at night
68 when we wake up
63 when we have both left for work
68 when we get home

and on weekends it's set for 68 all day.

We haven't had an oil delivery since September, but we usually get one at the end of December and it's generally almost a complete fill, so I'm figuring the bill is going to be about $500 ($2.59/gallon)

Re: OK --- some heat questions

we have different zones with different thermostats & they are all programmed to work with the rooms we use most & the times we are home.
In general at night upstairs goes down to 60, up to 68 at 5 am. during the day back down to 60 up to 68 from 7pm-9pm.
downstairs is programmed for each day.
we also have a gas fireplace downstairs that alows us to keep the heat low.

Re: OK --- some heat questions

We just got a delivery last week to the tune of $650 for about 200 gallons.

We've been keeping the heat at 60 when we're not there working on the house, and between 65 - 67 when we are there. I'm guessing it'll be about the same when we actually move in.

Our last heating bill on 12/4 - $704.11... Our tank was almost empty - I think we had about 200 gallons in it.

Anyway... we program our heat and a/c.

The heat is set for 65 during the day when no one is home, 68 at 5pm and 70 at night. The weekends are set for 68 during the day and 70 at night.

Same for us. We have dual zone heat, though.

During the day, both set at 64.

In evening, downstairs is set at 67, upstairs, 64. This reverses itself at 10pm when we go to bed, and then reverses itself again at 6am when we wake up. At 8am, it goes back to the original setting stated above.

Re: OK --- some heat questions

We keep ours set at 66 when we are not at home (we have a skinny Italian Greyhound that needs warmth) and we kick it up to 71 when we first get home to warm the house up (it's old with little to no insulation) and then drop it down to 69 when it does warm up and leave it at 69 overnight until we turn it down when we leave for work in the morning.

We got a delivery at the beginning of December for 177 gallons and it came to a little over $500. We usually get deliveries at the beginning of the month - usually for the same amount of oil.

Re: OK --- some heat questions

not sure about the bill... we ordered in september and probably will need some soon- we have two, 250 gallon tanks so i'm sure it'll be up there when we have to fill it...

as far as temps- we have a programable thermostat
60 at night while we're sleeping
67 from about 7-8 while we are getting ready for work...
back down to 60 when we leave for work
back up to 70 from about 4 oclock until 11 when we go to bed
