Oh no!!!

I am 40 weeks tomorrow and my mom just called saying that my sister has the stomach flu. She lives with them and my brother. Illness always makes it's way through the whole house. This is their first grandchild and I am devastated by this news. I wish I could say that I hope to hold out another week or so to make sure everyone is healthy.....but I am so uncomfortable I can not imagine wishing that on myself. Even if my parents don't become ill, they can still carry it right?

Oh no!!!

That's a tough one.... I would just be cautious and have them stay away if they are sick.... it totally sucks because I know you want them there in the hospital, but I'd be leery about a new born baby being around people with the fu or who have been exposed to it. Maybe it will pass through quickly...

Re: Oh no!!!

Most people go late with their first so hopefully it will have all passed before baby comes. I think the guideline is 24 hours symptom free before they should see baby (check with a doc). That's typically what it is for daycare anyway.

My DD had a fever all day yesterday and I'm concerned because baby #3 is due in two days. I'm 90% sure I'll go past due date and I'll take it because I want whatever virus she has to pass through first.

Re: Oh no!!!

that happened to my sister. her MIL was sick right when her first baby was born. she didn't come to the hospital. she waited until she was done with the antibotics and saw the baby at her house.
