OBGYNS and hospitals
I have a question. It's my first time posting here but now that DH and i are thinking more seriously of trying to have a baby i want to ask you girls something. Did any of you girls consider the hospital your OBGYN is affiliated with? My gyno is affiliated with a hospital that i am not comfortable giving birth at. I need to find a new one QUICK. I have only been to an OBGYN once and he was nice and all and made me feel very comfortable but i just don't want to give birth at that hospital. Was this a consideration for anyone else TTC? If so how did you find a new one. TIA!

Re: OBGYNS and hospitals
yes this is a definite concern for me, i am not thrilled with the hospitals my ob/gyn is affiliated with so i have been asking friends and their friends for recs i got a good recommendation but that doctor only delivers in Staten Island, i live in brooklyn but still i don't think so, so i will continue to ask around, thats my advice ask friends and i am sure some people here will offer suggestions

Re: OBGYNS and hospitals
I had a similar concern with my doctor...I absolutely love my OBGYN...she is fantastic....I was actually sitting in the waiting room and an older woman was talking to me about a surgery that the doc was part of for her so I asked her about the hospital and she said it was great...I also went to the hospital with my sister in law with her baby for a doctor's appointment and she said that the doctors were also very nice, thorough and good...so I am a bit at ease

Re: OBGYNS and hospitals
I have been using the same OB/GYN forever, but I definitely needed to feel 100% confident in the hospital as well as the Dr. Luckily my Dr is affiliated with my first choice hospital.

Re: OBGYNS and hospitals
I selected my OBGYN when I moved and a major consideration when selecting was which hospital she admitted to.

Re: OBGYNS and hospitals
yes-- also, because of where i live location is a huge issue for hospitals as well.
It's important to be comfortable on all fronts.

Re: OBGYNS and hospitals
That's exactly how I picked my OB/Gyn. I wanted someone who delivered at Lenox Hill and she fit my other criteria as well.

Re: OBGYNS and hospitals
It's definitely something I'm considering in my search. I currently do not have one.
