OB/GYN opinion
With my new health plan I have to choose a new ob/gyn
What is everyone's opinon on a group practice versus a "stand alone" doctor
I see the pros and cons to each the individual doctor will build a history with you etc
in a group practice you could be seen a lot quicker ...
any thoughts?

Re: OB/GYN opinion
i see both points.. its also a question of .. if you are willing to see the other doctors in that practice.. sometimes your doctor will want you to get to know them..etc..
my practice now has 2 doctors.. he was working alone but has a partner.. which i dont mind at all

Re: OB/GYN opinion
My Dr. has a partner but it's not like you see either one of them.
They are each other backup though for deliveries.
I have had the other Dr. do my c-section. I realized I loved both at that point. I will be very comfortable having either one deliver another child.
I really like that they are different but yet still work together.
I don't like switching back and forth between Dr. at each visit.

Re: OB/GYN opinion
I think it really depends on your experience either way.
I have always had 1 doctor as a gyn. Never really thought about it.
When I got pregnant I needed an OB, switched to a group. I felt like I was going in for an oil change, it was very impersonal. but I suspect it could have just been that place.
I'm back to a single doctor now.

Re: OB/GYN opinion
I go to a practice. When I call for an appointment I make it for "my" Dr., but if it is an emergency and my Dr is not available I like the fact that there is always a Dr in the practice that I can go to that has my file and all my info.
