oatmeal cereal

my LO is almost 6 months and we started cereal at 4.5 moonths. We stsrted with rice cereal she did great. We tried oatmeal and she seemed fine but after a few days she was gassy and had some diarhea. She also had 2 teeth coming in so we werent sure if the diarhea was from teething or oatmeal.

We went back to rice cereal for awhile. Thursday morning we gave her oatmeal, she was fine. Friday morning rice cereal, Friday night and Saturday morning oatmeal. She has pooped three times already and just now bad gas.

What do you think? I thought oatmeal is pretty easy on the stomach. I am just nervous about food allergies since my son is allergic to peanuts.

Am I over analyzing every move because I am anticipating something? Anyone else out there had oatmeal issues? If so were there other issues with other food?

Although ds was always fine with oatmeal, I have heard that some babies can have a reaction to it. I would call your ped & ask his/her advise.
