Of course he kept it open. NYC teachers' and students' safety isn't the priority, it's Bloomberg's reputation. If he closed schools, it would appear again that the city wasn't ready to handle the storm. So instead, now he can claim that he fixed the problem from the last storm and that the city did such a "fantastic" job this time that it's safe for schools to be open! It's all about his reputation, nothing else.
I'm sorry to all of the NYC teachers. For those going, please be safe!!!!!!

I'm not NYC...but my school is open. I doubt I'll be going in. Its Midterm week so thats probably why they're open.
ETA- Nevermind they just closed.
NYC Teachers- Please be careful if you chose to go to work.  Its awful you have to risk it especially if you have "no days left."
