NYC subway question

I have to go from Penn to Grand Central. From what I've read I can take the 1,2,3 to Times and then take the shuttle to GCS. Do I pay a fare for both the subway and the shuttle or is the shuttle considered a transfer?

Silly question, I know, but I haven't had to travel around NYC is about 10 years. Chat Icon

TIA!

Re: NYC subway question

Yeah, what everyone else said... it's a free transfer underground.

If you have a metrocard, you can transfer from subway to bus for free, too, within 2 hours. (Is there any option besides a metrocard these days?)

The walk underground is a little shorter to the 7 than to the S, too, for what it's worth.
