NYC Restaurant Recommendation

My husband and I are going to a concert in April at Radio City Music Hall. It's also our 10-year Wedding Anniversary month. We'd like to go for an early, romantic dinner before the concert. Can anyone recommend a GREAT restaurant between Penn Station and Radio City Music Hall? I am not a city girl so I know nothing about being there.

This was my suggestion

Or, if you like seafood, Oceana. (Right next door to DelFriscos (50th & 6th Ave)

Just curious if anyone has been to delfriscos recently ? I went not too long ago and it was so bad I wrote to them. I never followed up when they called because I wasn't looking for a freebie. But the quality was just not there. It used to be good. Chat Icon

Agree. I wasn't thrilled with Del Frisco the last I was there.

Albeit, I ordered shrimp scampi over pasta (not steak at a steak house), but it's a high end restaurant nonetheless. I thought my meal was really, really bad. I couldn't even eat it. It tasted like one of those instant Lipton Pasta Pronto bags. The apps were ok - nothing to write home about, not memorable. The lemon cake was delish as always.

I feel they are highly overrated as well. Highly.
There is SO much better in NYC.

I have.

Are you referring to the food or the service?

Both were great the last time I was there. (Last month) Did you go during restaurant week? My brother went to Capital Grille during that time and everything he had from the service to the food was repulsive

We go a few times a year (last time was 2 weeks ago) and I haven't seen any changes in the food, still great to us.

They did take about 20 minutes to seat us after our reservation time, I think the front desk kept on wanting to give us a 2 top but none were freeing up so they kept on skipping over us.

We asked what was going on and they finally sat us, and they gave us free dessert.

Service was great. Bone in rib eye (2 of them) weren't good.

NYC Restaurant Recommendation

Mastro's was really good if you want a steakhouse. For seafood, City Lobster was pretty good but I haven't been there in a while.

I was at City Lobster in the fall and I was not impressed at all with the food.

I went to the one in Palm Beach, FL and it was one of the worst experiences I have had (for the price).

Re: NYC Restaurant Recommendation

I wouldn't call Keen's romantic ........at all.
It's one of DH's favorites, but I'm not a fan. Food is OK, I guess.
The Palm is still my streak favorite (not romantic though) Capital Grille also very good. What kind of food are you looking for?
