Nursing tanks/bras
Ok so i'm 8 days from my due date, and I haven't bought any kind of nursing tank or bra....
I don't know what I really need. I'm on a tight budget, and I found some tanks at target that have the flap that goes down, but then i'm guessing you don't wear a bra with this??
What do you recommend I get??

Re: Nursing tanks/bras
Crashing for a sec here...
I nursed DD for a year. I bought 3 nursing tanks and NEVER used them. I was a 38F after I delivered, and the shelf bras weren't big enough. Worse, they always come unhooked so they look bad and they are annoying to wear. It's so much easier to just wear a regular tank and pull it down when you want to feed.
As for nursing bras - you'll want a couple of soft cotton ones you can sleep in. You'll need to wear pads at night for when you leak, and you have to stick them in bras. I got these cheap wrap ones in 3 colors. Size doesn't matter too much because they're really soft and stretchy and you're not wearing them for support; it's really just to hold the pad in place. For daytime, I wore nursing bras with some thickness (again, in case I leaked - I never really wore pads during the day) and lots of support, and then just regular shirts and tanks. I'd pull the shirt up or down, depending on the neckline.
So what I'd suggest you have is - a bunch of stretchy, comfy tees and tanks, 3 sleep bras (you're going to sweat and leak and need a bunch of these), and 2 or 3 good-quality, supportive nursing bras in nude/white/black that you can wear under anything.
Good luck!

I guess it depends on your size. I'm on the small side, even now. I live in the target nursing tanks for the most part. I also have some of the stretchy bras from target and find them comfy for under regular tops. If you're on the bigger side to start, then the tanks probably won't cut it except for maybe around the house or for sleeping.

Nursing tanks/bras
Crashing... I bought 2 nursing tanks from target. DD is 4 months now and I have not used them even once. I was a D cup to begin with and went up after she was born. I have always liked the support of a bra- even when I sleep. I just wear regular tanks over my nursing bras and pull the straps down. I feel like if you are looking for cost effective... get a few good nursing bras and then be able to wear your normal tops. I got some really nice and cheap bras from Babies r us- I think they are motherhood maternity. I have a ton of really cheap tanks from Forever 21- they are like $3 each. Everyone is different but if you normally like the support of a bra then stick with that. If you like tanks with built in bras then maybe that will work for you. Dont invest in multiples until you know it's going to work for you.

Re: Nursing tanks/bras
I got nursing tanks from walmart (Bestform I think is the brand)...they are 2 for $25. With my DD I wore them all the time, even for sleep, no bra underneath. I also had 2-3 nursing bras that I could wear with a regular tank/top

I liked the target ones and the brass too. I think its omalley. Do not get the old navy ones. Difficult to use.
