Nursing in public
I thought I would and although I didn't NIP until DD was about 10 wks old, I really have no issues with it. I just use the cover. To be honest, I find the cover cumbersome and awkward so Ive considered not using it, but I think my DH would have a heart attack.

I always did, in parks, restaurants, at the mall, whatever. I think I once made a waiter a little uncomfortable but I didn't care.

I'm a FTM to my 15 week baby boy. I NIP everywhere I go! I have a cover; Restaurants; parks; mall; you name it. I haven't had to do it anywhere that I felt uncomfortable yet. We're going away next month and I plan on nursing at the airport; and wherever we end up while away. Hopefully it's welcomed!

I didn't with my son but it was because of me not anyone else. I am very private (not prude). Plus I had milk issues so I was also dealing with that. It doesn't bother me when I see people do it.
I am a 6th grade teacher and I did have it happen my my classroom with a large amount of 6th grade boys and girls seeing this mother nurse. That was a bit uncomfortable she had no cover on and her son was one of the students.

Yes, with a cover, I think more women should do this in order to get rid of the breast feeding stigma.

i hope to master it the 2nd time around i was too shy 1st time around.. i tried a couple of times but ds always exposed me while getting comfy or being nosy

I nursed three kids everywhere. EVERYWHERE. Anywhere I would give a baby a bottle, I would nurse. I am a HUGE advocate of NIP.... And now that I am no longer a nursing mama, I always say "Good for you!" to women who are nursing in public places. YOU GO GIRL!!!
Same - except one kid!

I agree with the second part of this, but I think using a cover propagates the idea that nursing is something that needs to be hidden. There's nothing wrong with using a cover if that's what makes mom happy, but I don't want to be told I have to cover up, because I'm not doing anything shameful or gross. (Not that you were saying this, StarsStripes, that's just an idea that comes up a lot with this topic and really ruffles my feathers.)

Reminds me of this. Second time was so much easier and less apprehensive in public. Both kids were EBF got 1+ yrs.

I have never felt comfortable nursing in public, which is annoying but I don't think I was coordinated enough to do it haha. There would definitely have been innapropriate nipple exposure. Also my DS hated the cover and is very distractable/pulls off all the time.

With my first, I only NIP if things got desperate and she wouldn't take a bottle. With DS, I nurse everywhere. Just two days ago, I nursed him while signing a contract for our new home!

I never felt very comfortable while doing it but I wanted to so bad. Next time around, Im going to try to get over that fear because I have no issues when I see other moms doing it.

I nursed DS in a bathroom stall just today (bc he likes to rip off any cover and I will never be that comfortable to go without one). When he's hungry, he's hungry.

I nursed everywhere also and I never really noticed if people saw me, nor did I care. Usually if people saw they assumed the baby was sleeping.

Yes I have done it with a nursing cover - I need to use one because she pulls off me alot. However she likes to move her arms now and I have to fight to keep the cover on so its tricky and stressful. We live in a small town and run into my hubby's coworkers and bosses all the time so if we are out somewhere I usually choose to just nurse in the car. But it depends where we are etc. Overall I am getting more comfy with it.
