Nursery school?? Where to go?

I have heard that some schools have a waiting list. I am curious about this.
My twins will be 2 in october. Do you start with mommy & me or put in straight 2 hour program.

Where do your kids go? How much does it run

Nursery school?? Where to go?

DS turned 2 in October and I had started him in a 2x a week 2 hour a day program the month before. He had a rough time in the beginning but now he loves to go to school. I pay $165 per month.

For very popular schools, yes they fill up quickly. I started looking in April and almost didn't get into where we are now. We actually got the last spot for the morning class.

What towns are you near??

I live in east meadow.
Which school do you go to? Do you think I should wait until 3yrs or do most do at 2yrs?

My DS will be going to St. Brigid's in Westbury in September. We're currently in their Mommy and Me program and it's great! Price varies bc you could do mornings (2, 3 or 5x a week) or full days (2, 3 or 5x a week).

ETA: My DS just turned 2 in December.

Thanks for the tip. So your DS will be almost 3 at year end. We will probably wait until the following year...2014

I would definitely look into their M&M program. It's one day a week from 930-11 and he LOVES IT!!! It's $350 from Sept-June.

Re: Nursery school?? Where to go?

I am looking into a few places for fall didn't register yet. There are 4 nursey schools in small radius where I live. Some parents do a separation program when they are 2 I am skipping this because she has no issues leaving me and actually pays little attention to me during momy and me. I think u need to do what is good for u. They will be 2 and are still young you can alway do some classes like a gym and a music.

He goes to Peanuts Nursery in Farmingdale. It's a personal preference to start at 2 or 3. I am pg (and due any day now) so I wanted a routine established before the baby came. I also felt that he would only benefit from a program as opposed to the random socialization from library groups.

Since their bday is October like my DS, they are always going to be the "younger" kids. Most schools go by the rules of the school district they are in. So as long as they turn 2 before December's cut off (typically the 1 or 15) they are eligible for that year.

Personally, you can wait until the next year. I had my son in a program when he was two and looking back, waste of money...IMO. Unless it's a mommy and me, you can wait. My 4th son is going to be 3 in October so he's starting a three year old program in Sept.
