Nuclear Attacks and NYC

Do you think if the US is attacked by a nuclear weapon that the city to be attacked first will be NYC?

Either NYC or Washington DC, to get rid of the political leaders...

Honestly--- yes. It's a small island with tons of people on it connected to a bunch of other areas w/ lots of people... in close proximity.

Re: Nuclear Attacks and NYC

Ok.. What a very delightful post.

Will it be NYC?
I guess. Still we have our own better defenses, etc outside the US. Also, more bang for the buck, don't we have a nuclear plant close to us?

Unfortunately yes. And I worry about this too much.

Why do you ask? Did you hear something (hear the worry in my voice)?

I hate this day and age we live in.

I think the first places that will be attacked is where our nuclear weapons are located. Then larger cities like NYC, DC, main port cities, etc.

Re: Nuclear Attacks and NYC

this reminds me, i should move to Montana or something...

Yes, NYC being a major finaincal, policital center would be attack...

but then again, if NYC is hit, more then likely a good portion of the world would just start fighting to not get hit...

I'm sorry your response just made me cry laughing. I survived 9/11 and then dealt w/ the blackout before packing my bags and moving back out east where I grew up w/ DH... I had the same response to this question- though I think in today's society this is kind of a normal question... sad. (No offense to the OP-- I think things like this all the time). Yep I'm a 9/11 survivor too. 2WTC 36th Flr. I almost think that if its nuclear is right on top of me. I did tons of reports in school and did a lot of study on the effects of nuclear bombs. Id rather die quickly.

ETA: To your comment about it being an island. My favorite saying since 9/11 is NYC is an island and so is long Island .. last I checked I don't have a boat. I stayed in NJ that night and was fully prepared to stay in NJ after the airplane came down that same Nov. Let me be on mainland america. haha Im not paranoid... Im experienced Chat Icon

They were talking about it on CNN?

That's how you know it's an election year.
