My grandfather died about 40 years ago. His favorite holiday was New Year's Eve. For 40 years, my grandmother wouldn't celebrate NYE because my grandfather wasn't there to kiss at midnight.
She's been suffering from Alzheimer's for 6 years & we knew she had very little time left. I'm not sure if I believe in an afterlife but I couldn't have picked a more perfect night for her to pass. I'd like to imagine for the first time they'll be together.
I am so sorry for your loss, this story literally made me tear up at my office. I know the loss is hard, but what a wonderful day for your grandmother to pass on, I'm sure your grandfather was there waiting for their first kiss!

I am so sorry for what you are going through - I hope for your grandmother's sake, they will give her some anti anxiety medication to help allay her fears.
You and your family will be in my prayers!
