not sure how to proceed
Well after my IUI about 13 days ago, I feel AF coming on, even got some brown. I am supposed to go for my blood work tomorrow, but I dont think I will go. Obviously wont go if I get AF. I am just so upset and confused about what to do next. I feel defeated. Its my first IUI, but it is diffiuclt attending all the appointments with DS with me all the time and missing work. I just feel like the precentage is so low, why continue. I almost feel like, well if its meant to be it will be, why continue to torture myslef every month. Its so hard to get this out of my brain and its effecting my whole life with friends, ds, dh, family, etc. I almost feel like I need to stop, but something keeps driving me. What do you ladies think? DH has a low sperm count and that appeas to be the only problem.

Re: not sure how to proceed
My best to you! I hope it's implantation pain you are getting rather than AF I wish you the best!
If I were you I would try to consider how much you want this and if you think you can handle it emotionally. If you can, then I will try it one more time. Many ladies here have posted that it took more than one IUI to get their BFP. Do your insurance cover it? Are you able to afford it? Can you handle it emotionally? Do you want it bad enough? those are questions I would ask myself before I decided to go on.
By the way, you didnt' mention if your IUI was with medication or without it.
I start my 1 shot of Lupron tomorrow morning after DH and I have been TTC on our own. We were given the choice to try an IUI without medication and we decided to go for the most aggressive right away. Thankfully our insurance covers the visits and the Lupron so far.

I really do want it and insurance does cover most of it. I just get so upset when it doesnt work. When I asked my doctor the chances it would work he said 10%. When I asked it the chances naturally, he said 5-10%. Might as well just try naturally, seems to be the same percentage. The IUI was natural IUI. I really did not want to take medications and mess with my system, when it is funtioning properly.

Re: not sure how to proceed
I understand believe me. I was getting really upset every time I would get AF when we were trying on our own. It was horrible! I considered the same chances myself and that is why we decided to do it with medication. We will see what happens! Unfortunately, DH has a white blood cell problem where he needs to take medication. The medications is not good when trying to conceive because it can create birth defects, so he needed to be off it for 8 months before we began trying. Just when the 8 months hit, he had a set back and was hospitalized for a week. We decided to go the most aggressive way we could afford. I need him to go back on the medication. I love him so much!
The ladies in this board have helped me a lot. I hope I can help you as well. I wish you the best....
