Northport Village
I'm so bummed because I really wanted to go to Cow Harbor Day today but couldn't because of soccer games and all of the usual chaos that is going on around here.
And then there was the 80's thread making me feel all nostalgic.
So anyway, I was remembering Northport as it was when I was a child. Do you remember the old Five and Dime? How about Ingerman's? And the theatre when it was the $.99 movie?
Then when I was in NJH we used to walk home and stop in at Eddie's pizza (in what used to be the Foodtown shopping center).
I haven't strolled around down there in so long. Maybe this week I'll go for a ride....

I LOVED Eddie's pizza I still have never found anything else like it!
I absolutely remember the 5 and 10 and Ingermann's
The wooden park down by the water and climbing through all the holes and the tire swings there and of course Laces

Yep. I am from Greenlawn and I remember it all. I also remember going to Hawaiian Sailboards with my HS boyfriend and he would drool over the expensive skateboarding equipment. We used to spend hours just hanging out by the docks and in the park. He moved out of NY but he says that Northport still reminds him of me.

I remember it all too. We were at Cow Harbor Day yesterday and were talking how we used to take our boat over for bagels or to go to the movie theatre. We were only 14 & that was our "car".

I remember all of that...used to go to Laces every Saturday morning. 5&10 was my favorite though. When they closed and the Gap came in, it was so sad.
Artisan House is still a fav of mine, though it's not quite the same. Snow Goose was another favorite.
