i'm a little stressed out ..

26 wks pregnant today and I have not felt the baby move at all since last night. i tried drinking super cold water, i'm rubbing my belly, i'm a little freaked out.

i feel fine, DH thinks i'm a little nuts......

is this normal? can it be that maybe she's just resting? Chat Icon

This was me a few weeks back. I went straight to L&D. The position LO was in made it hard to feel any movement. My philosophy is better safe than sorry.

Call your Dr. Don't wait. Peace of mind is much better than sitting there worrying.

Re: no movement

Do you have an anterior placenta? There were times where I didn't feel the baby at all, but everything is A-OK.

I had one day of panic where I didn't feel him, so I called the doc and they sent me to L&D. He was snoozing, all curled up like a pretzel. I was so nervous, but the day before I had been on my feet and they said he was simply resting. I felt so silly being in L&D but they said to always err on the side of caution and call and get checked out if necessary. Better safe than sorry Chat Icon

ETA: I was around 28 weeks or so when it happened, and they did say that a slight decrease in movement WAS normal given that they are getting bigger and have less space to move, which put me at ease too. Now he won't stop moving!

Re: no movement

This happened to me last pregnancy. OB had me come in & they monitored & everything was fine. I'm sure your LO is ok but I'd call just to be sure & for peace of mind.

Re: no movement

My girlfriend had a healthy pregnancy and the baby never moved hardly. She was healthy and is going to celebrate her 16th bday. I think some babies are just comfy and it depends on the room they have. But it it makes you feel better call your OB

I'm glad everything is fine. I try not to worry over times when the baby is not very active or I don't feel it at all for a while. But don't ever feel bad calling your OB. Speaking from experience, they take that kind of thing very seriously and I'm sure they would rather you call than wait it out. Chat Icon
