No kid Happy Hour-suggest places

Looking for a place:

-Near the LIRR (somewhere near middle of LI)
-Not too crowded that we can't find some seats
-The date is Monday 4/21, between about 4-8pm
-Needs to have some food to buy

I know some of you suggested on an earlier thread, but let's get official suggestions out here!!!!

You have a good point....

Should we maybe do a Huntington thing??? Its kind of mid point...the train is there (short cab ride)..and there are plenty of bars in the village that serve food. Or we could even easily do Fridays too (cab ride essentially the same distance)

Elanor Rigby's is within walking distance of the Mineola train.

If it has not been suggested, maybe we should try to figure out which LIRR line we want to be close to.

I am all for a Wantagh pub crawl,

Wantagh Inn
Hemmingways
Boss Croakers
that italian one...

I'm thinking Huntington sounds good, if it close to the LIRR. I'd be coming in on the Ronkonkoma line. What do you think? Chat Icon

You can't get to Huntington on the Ronkonkoma line. You could take the POrt Jeff line.

Here is my take on the whole thing--we should do somewhere near the Nassau Suffolk border. That has worked well for LIW GTGs. Huntington fits the bill and so does Farmingdale. The places we'd want to go in Huntington are a very long walk from the train station and I won't let you do it because, at the risk of insulting someone from Huntington Station, I have to say that the area you have to walk through is not great and I know someone who got mugged doing that walk. However, I can pick you up at the Huntington train and drive you back. The area where we would be hanging out is fine.

I can do the Port Jeff line too.

Let's be honest, whether it's a nice area or not, I can't walk too far. That's why I was thinking cab. I think a few others are considering the LIRR to, so a cab would be cheap.

I was from Huntington Station and I wouldnt walk through there!!!! Although Ive done it it was years ago!!!

A cab wouldnt be to bad and Im sure someone could give us a lift to/and or from the train station...(Im going to do the train thing too..

Re: No kid Happy Hour-suggest places

Okay, I am posting on NFR for help because we absolutely stink at this!!!!

I am all for Huntington Station, but I was looking for a few places for people to vote. Is there anyplace in Hicksville? Looks like a few lines for the LIRR run through there, and could mean more opportunities for others to attend. (Yes, I am looking at the LIRR map as I write this)

Remember, I know NOTHING outside Suffolk. Trust me, I have a PERFECT place in Suffolk if nobody else wants to go from other counties. But I want to meet other mommies, so I'm trying my best.
