Our house hit 79 yesterday and we had to put the AC on. Can you put a fan in LO's room? I know it sounds ridiculous but my kids need the AC in order to sleep well. What did kids do 50 years ago without AC? I ask myself that a lot 
I know my mom says that all the time! How she had to share a room with 3 other siblings, and no ac! Haha
I know! It's funny to me that our society has become so dependent on modern technology. Babies have been sleeping without AC for thousands of years.
In Italy, only one of my family members has AC, and not even in a bedroom LOL their kids are fine - and that's in Sicily which is similar to a Florida climate. Its just what you get used to, I love sleeping with AC, but luckily DD's room stays pretty cool so we only need it in her room on extremely hot days 90*+

The key is circulating air in the baby's room. I would 100% have a fan in the room. As for the comment that we did not have air conditioning for 1000 years, yes, and people slept outside, and homes did not have the same type of insulation we have now. They had higher ceilings to deal with the heat as well. There was an increase in infant deaths because of the lack of circulation in the room. Infants do not have the same ability as adults to regulate their body temperature.

I don't have an ac in dd's room... and the window in there is a casement, so I don't have an option of putting an ac in there. last night I had her in a onesie, with a lightweight swaddle-me on (I don't swaddle her arms anymore, I just haven't gotten the sleepsack yet), and the ceiling fan on high. I closed her window bc it was supposed to thunderstorm, and I checked on her 2x during the night and it felt fine in her room. we have a big ac unit in the DR/LR area that reaches a decent amount of the house... in the summer I guess I will leave her door open and it should cool off enough in her room that way.
