Nine Inch Nails calling it quits after 20 years
I am so upset about this. I don't know how many other NIN fans are here besides myself, but I am really and truly devastated over this news.
Since 1994 I have NEVER missed a NIN concert, except for this past November. I was 8 months pregnant and I didn't feel it was a good idea to go. Now I find out it's their last tour ever

I saw NIN back in 95 (I think). Not knowing who they were, I said "Hey lets get general admission seating." I ended up moving to the back of Nassau Coliseum covering my face so crowd surfers wouldn't kick my face - fun times.

okay - just read the whole thing....
AFTER the tour this summer - they are done.... i'm VERY upset - but now more than ever need to see this tour! I told dave before that even if the concert is on our DUE DATE we're going...you cannot get better in my head than the original Janes and NIN!!!!

Argh - they're the one band that i never got to see that i'd really have loved to have seen.
A friend of mine had tickets to the first Lollapolooza, and invited me to go with him. My boyfriend at the time didn't want me to go with another guy, and since i was young and stupid, i chose not to go to the show and keep the peace with the boyfriend instead.
I've regretted it ever since!
Does anyone know when the NY shows will be announced? (i'm assuming there will be one)

Everytime I hear NIN I think of how everyone in HS used to write the "NIN" all over everything with the 2nd N written backwards. Brings back memories....

He mentions 'disappearing for a while' which is his usual way. Taking the last 2 years out of the mix; he would make an album, tour, then disappear for 3 years. Make another album, tour, and disappear again.
Look at the album release years; 89, 92, 94, 99, 05, 07, 08, 08.
I don't take the words 'disappear for a while' to mean that they're never coming back - more of they're taking a typical break like he usually does. It's just the fact that now he has a blog and many people are seeing it. I also wonder (and hope this is not true) if this is just to drum up press... as this will drive up ticket sales in a bad economy. I mean look at this thread itself - I bet half the people that said 'omg i have to go see this tour' would not have said that if this 'disappearing' wasn't said.
