Nikon SLR people
Does anyone have the Sigma 18-200mm lens? I really want a new lens for my camera, but the Nikon 18-200mm lens is out of my price range. I know Sigma is compatible with the nikon, but was wondering if anyone has used it? The price difference is NAJOR, so what is the difference? Would someone as amature as me (who only uses the auto settings), notice the difference?
Any advice welcome. Thanks!

Re: Nikon SLR people
I have it and I love it. It does take some getting used to though. Much heavier that th standard 18-55 the camera came with.I read in reviews that it was a little hard to slide. At first it was but the more you use it the easier it slides.
I have no complaints.

I don't think it has vibration reduction (which gives you 3-4 stops..it really works!), and it's a slower lens, meaning it has a smaller maximum aperture at some focal lengths.
I'm only seeing an $80 price difference. $600 on the Sigma, $680 on the Nikkor.
Could you post a link? If you are planning to buy an extended warranty/protection plan you can save a few bucks buying a grey market Nikkor lens. That's what I did.
Which lens do you already have? You can get better quality and a lower price for a lens without such a huge range.
