Newborn VS 0-3 sizes
I received so many clothes from my shower and friends but not a lot of new born. I know she won't be in newborn for long but realize I have a lot of onesies but not a lot of pants!!! I wanted to just grab a few just in case. They measured her today and they are guessing she will be in the upper 7 lb range when born. Should I pick up a few newborn pants or just jump to the 0-3 size??

Newborn VS 0-3 sizes
the newborn sizes are super cute & tiny. we had 2 outfits in that size, and it was fine. he outgrew them in about 4 weeks. and the 0-3 fit fine, just a bit loose, but still fine.

Doesn't hurt to grab a couple just in case b/c they are typically wrong in guessing birth weight.

Re: Newborn VS 0-3 sizes
I thought d's would be able to just wear 0-3 months so we didn't get any newborn, and 0-3 month was huge on him and he was 7 lbs 11 oz. so my mom had to run out and get him some newborn pants to hold us over. I'd buy a couple and just keep the tags on and save the recipes, you could always return them

Re: Newborn VS 0-3 sizes
I'd def get a few newborn. My DD was 8lbs 1oz and the 0-3 was falling off of her. Even though the 0-3 fits in the beginning, the NB fits better. And although they'll only wear it for a month or so, you'll probably feel better if the clothes fit properly. I know I did.

Re: Newborn VS 0-3 sizes
my favorites for a newborn were the sleep and plays. Keeps them nice and covered and warm. You don't have to worry about the umbilical stump. I'd return the onsies for sleep and plays.

We had maybe 3 nb outfits Yes 0-3 fit a little big but IMO not worth spending money on nb when they outgrow it so quick. Plus dd loved being swaddled so you never really saw her outfits

Re: Newborn VS 0-3 sizes
I would get some NB.
I had average sized babies (8lbs 5oz - 19", 8lbs 4oz - 20", 6lbs - 18") and they were all in NB for 6 weeks or so.
Then 0-3 until 3 months, 3-6 until 6 months, 6-9 until 9 months, etc.

DD was born at 7 lbs and wore newborn for a while. The 0-3 was just huge on her. I'd definitely get some newborn sized clothes.

Newborn VS 0-3 sizes
I would. Dd was born early and 5 weeks later they still fit her. NB fit as they aren't as long or big in the waist and she's narrow. You can always keep the tags on and return if he ends up being bigger. What's 10.00 on a few pair that fit good

Both of my kids were in nb for a few weeks. Totally worth spending money on a few nb outfits/pants.

Re: Newborn VS 0-3 sizes
I'd get a handful of nb pants and sleepers. My was in nb for about a month or so (he was born 7.9 and 20"). He's now wearing 0-3 and was 10.8 3w ago. 3m is still a little too big for him.

My daughter was 7.5 when born, and left the hospital at 7.10 and she wore newborn for 3-4 weeks. I would definitely grab some sleepers, ect

Re: Newborn VS 0-3 sizes
I bought two or three outfits. My mom is staying with me the first week, so I figured if the baby is small/needs NB sizes, I will just ask grandma to take a trip to carters (across the st. from me). I am sure she won't mind.

I would get NB...why not?
0-3 months is going to be big in the beginning. DS was 8lbs and he wore NB for the first 4 weeks.
It's not a waste of money especially if you are exchanging items you got from your shower.

Re: Newborn VS 0-3 sizes
DS would have fit into the NB size for about a month, but we owned a grand total of 1 NB size outfit. They are so tiny and sleepy at that point, it doesn't bother them to be in clothes a little big. At that age, they are mostly in 1-pieces so you can just roll up the sleeves. IMO, it's only when they are moving around that you don't want pants that are too big b/c they get tangled around the baby's foot. I personally would just stick with the 3 month sizes.

Re: Newborn VS 0-3 sizes
I had a few but DD never wore them. She was born at 9.6 oz and 22" long so was already too big them. We went straight to 0-3. With this pregnancy, I'm only buying some 0-3 stuff.
ETA: Ditto for NB diapers. Glad we didn't stock up on them.

This! Have some of both sizes. The predicted my DD to be 8-8.5 lbs. Multiple times they told me she was big. She was born 9 days late at 7lbs 1oz. She wore NB sizes for at least 2 weeks.

Newborn VS 0-3 sizes
Hailey was 6.2 when she was born She was in NB for a few weeks. definitely worth it. I hated puting 0-3 on her, they were way too big and got tangled because she still pulled her legs up.

Re: Newborn VS 0-3 sizes
I was told the same thing, don't get any newborn clothes so we didn't. Ds was born 6lb 14oz. 0 - 3 months was swimming on him. Both my mother and mother in law bought a few newborn clothes to get him through. Buy a few, you will use them for a few weeks. This is ds in his 0 - 3 month snow suit.
