newborn schedule
How do you get your newborn on a feeding schedule? Or do they just cry when they are hungry and eventually get themselves on a schedule?
How often is your newborn eating?

Re: newborn schedule
you should basically be on their schedule... I'd say its not "routine" until maybe 3 months. They should generally be eating every 2-3hrs...and sleeping totally varies in the beginning. Some streches of sleep could be 5-6 hrs and I never woke DS to feed him during that time.
I BF'd so I wasn't really sure how much he was eating the very beginning.

Re: newborn schedule
At this point I'm totally on his schedule. Sometimes it's every 2-3 hours and sometimes it's even less than that- like every hour . He does often have 4 hours of sleep time during the day and I don't wake him.

Re: newborn schedule
DD is 9 weeks and she calls the shots when it comes to eating. IMO, they are too young to try and set a schedule - plus the fact when they are hungry, boy do they let you know it. It's not like they will stop crying because we want them to wait another hour! LOL
I have tried to get her on a "slight" schedule at night. She usually takes her last bottle anywhere between 8:30 and 9:30, then I give her a bath, then bring her upstairs usually by 10. She sometimes sleeps till 7, although she does wake in the middle of the night looking for her paci.
