Newborn photography costs
I posted this in pregnancy also but
I'm wondering if you don't mind sharing how much your newborn session is/was recently. I have a photographer that I love but I feel like she seems very high price wise. I used her with my son less than two years ago and she was a little less, but not much. With my son coming around the holidays, money will be tight and I'm not sure we can swing what she is asking. If you feel more comfortable FMing me, that's fine too.
Thanks so much!

Re: Newborn photography costs
Most photographers seemed to be between $350 and $600. I found one or two to be less expensive (can't remember whom specifically; just browsing people's suggestions and ads), but the ones I personally liked were in the ballpark I mentioned above.

Newborn photography costs
Here's my feeling on it. Maybe I'm wrong.
The cost of the really good ones ... Well, it's like the cost of a newborn
And the ones that are cheaper are cheaper for a reason. Not to say they are bad, they aren't - but the quality isn't there. Some don't see it, some don't care - but for myself, I decided to just buy a fancy camera and lens and take pics myself. I still have my camera and can take nice pics whenever. So I think sometimes that's a better investment.
Someone close to me recently showed me the newborn photographer they picked out. The photos are ok. She seems to love her work, so that's all that matters I guess.
You do get what you pay for though.

I paid $200. I agree with PP, if you want super high quality photos by a true prpfrssional you're going to pay a lot more. But honestly my pictures are freakin adorable and my photographer is a sweetheart. That's all that mattered to me. I'm not a photography expert so I really couldn't tell you if something was off. But I like them and I like that I didn't break the bank for them.

Re: Newborn photography costs
We paid 750 for DD3's pics, but the photographer has a package with less pics that is less money (I think 600). The really good ones go for over $1000! Here is who we used Janine Leigh Photography

Thanks everyone. Mine is 400 so I guess that is reasonable. It's just when you add in the prints, etc it will get costly. I really love my photographer's work and just wanted to make sure she was not overpriced. I guess she is on the cheaper end.

The price I paid included all the high res files and all images on a 4x6 print. Most photographers that charge for session and prints separatly have a print minimum.

Re: Newborn photography costs
We paid $650. I think it was slightly less for our first child, a few years ago.
