newborn, maternity photographers
I know this has been posted many times before. I have spoken with many photographers, and they all seem overpriced or far from me. I live in nassau but they all seem to be in suffolk. Any suggestions that are reasonably priced- aka- not 600+ not including prints. I appreciate it. thanks in advance.

My friend does some really nice newborn photography. She's in the Bronx. Right over the bridge. Very reasonable prices. Fm me if you're interested and I'll give you some info.

anne hack photography or half pint photography. anne hack is in suffolk but does travel and her overall package is extremely affordable. half pint is in long beach but travels as well and also has extremely affordable pricing!

Definitely Elizabeth Kristin. She is amazing and really reasonably priced. I did BPics with her last summer and have her scheduled to do my newborn shoot in May. She is listed as a photographer on this site.

Gina Marie does great work, but she is on the higher priced side. Almost $500 for the session even though that comes with the pictures.

These photographers have gotten a little crazy with their prices. $500 for a newborn shoot is INSANE! Considering many of the photographers are SAHM with no photography degrees and they are using forums like this to advertise. You would think they would keep their prices reasonable for fellow moms who just want good pics of their children.

I don't think $600 is a lot to ask for the beautiful pictures a lot of the newborn photographers produce. With one of my DC I attempted it with my Nikon and they look NOTHING like the quality of pictures I have gotten from photographers on here.
Think of it this way, in 30 years, would $600 seem lime a bargain to be able to look at those pictures and remember your child as a newborn?

I have to chime in here.
If you are looking for someone to just take a picture of your baby, then yes, I recommend buying a nice camera and doing it yourself.
If you are looking for someone who has attention to detail, knows how to use natural or unnatural light, can correct the pictures to make the colors vibrant, and can get your newborn to do those those amazing droopy poses, then you need an artistic photographer. They have a vision. Those are the people you pay for.
I have looked at many many blogs and websites recommended on this site. Some of the photographers are truly amateur. I would not pay hundreds of dollars for them. But some of the photographers on this site are artists and to me that is worth the money.
Of course, everything within reason. Don't buy something you can't afford.

Honestly I don't think it's that easy and having a high quality camera is only half the battle. I mean you're only going to get so far with it if you dont have the knowledge to operate it. I know a few friends who thought along the same lines, bought a new camera and some hats then took a few pictures. It looked nothing like what these photographers produce.
To the pp who mentioned that these photographers are SAHM's with no degree in photography....their talent and time are still worth something. What may seem absurd to you may not be to others.
FWIW I didn't do newborn pictures with my first dc and regret it greatly. I did do it with dc2 and it was worth every penny.
