Re: newborn clothing inventory
i think you could prob do with out alot of those onesies...
also i wouldnt do any returns or buying untill after the baby comes...
my dd was a monster when she was born and lost weight before coming home and thank god i waited. because i needed ALL My newborn stuff.. and actually had to go buy more. shes 5 weeks old and still wearing all newborn stuff.. just today she started with 0-3 onsies but thats the only thing that fits in 0-3. i actually ahd to go out and buy 5 more pairs of newborn sleep and plays. because i noticed when we werent going out she was wearing them in the house with the AC on it was perfect with out a blanket. and well.. my baby tends to pee on EVERYTHING when your changing her like a little boy. so sometimes in one night we go through 2 or 3 pairs.
i would wait and see how big and how the baby is growing before doing anything!
hope this helps

Re: newborn clothing inventory
I don't think you need any newborn robes. As far as what you need, it really depends on the size of your baby and how much laundry you plan on doing. DS was a December baby so I put onesies underneath everything. There were many times when I went through more than one onesie per day b/c of blowouts or him peeing on the onesie.
Even though he was 8 lbs 1 oz at birth, he wore newborn clothes for at least a month. I got several more one piece footed outfits in newborn size after he was born b/c he was swimming in the 0-3 month clothes.

Re: newborn clothing inventory
DH and I don't have a W/D, so we needed lots of NB onesies and footed pjs. I definitely don't think you need 8 baby blankets. I would keep the handmade ones first and then a favorite. DD used one blanket all winter and now I put her down for naps with a Taggies blanket because she likes to play with it.

Re: newborn clothing inventory
DS never wore any newborn clothing. He was 7 lbs 14 oz at birth and 20 3/4 inches. I would wait to see what your DCs stats are at birth and have someone wash the appropriate size clothing for you while you are in the hospital.

Re: newborn clothing inventory
not sure what you're trying to figure out, but I wouldn't return anything. I have a ton of stuff but I also try and have DS wear things at least once so we can use everything.
