How much newborn and 0-3 clothing do you really need?

So confused about what I should have at home...I have 1 newborn onesie, and 2 newborn 1 piece outfits, 1 sleepsack, 8 0-3 onesies, and 13 0-3 outfits..is that enough?

Most likely.

Although, I will say that DS wore NB until he was 4 months old and 0-3 until he was 5 months old.

But DC can always wear a 0-3 outfit, even if it is a little big.

Plus, you can always go buy stuff if you needed it, we bought NB sleepers after DS came home.

it depends on the baby - my son was 9lbs 14ozs so was never in Newborn. Oh - and I NEVER thought I would have a baby that big either so you really never know.

I think that is more than enough. DS wore newborn for only the day he came home from the hospital. He wore 0-3 for about a month.

I stopped using 0-3m at about 3m.


My dd is now 5 1/2 m and i just put away all her 3-6m cloths.

Im still using the sleep sacs that are 0-3 tho, they still fit pretty good, so i have 3 of those, b/c she sometimes spits up on it. The first few months i had her mostly in pjs or one piece outfits. The outfits that required pants just looked uncomfortable to me on her.

Sofia still wears newborn onesies..

she wears 0-3 clothes.. I just tried 3 - 6 clothes.. NOT yet and she is 3mts this Thurs.. Soon soon....

she was 10lbs 8oz on Sat so soon..... ayyaya

It definitely depends on the baby. My son was small 6 lb 15 oz and he is just growing out of newborn clothes and he is 6 1/2 weeks.

My son was tiny and he wore newborn clothes until he was about 9lbs, so they fit for a while. That would not have been enough newborn stuff for a very small baby.

For right now that sounds good. Wait until your DC is born to see how big they are. Some babies wear NB sizes alot longer and some never do. DD was average (7lbs 5oz) and wore NB for about 1.5 months. Take it from me...don't overstock unless you can return. Wait until the baby is here to determine what and how much you need.

I would say that's enough for now. If you need more, you can always buy it. DD wore preemie for a few weeks, then wore 0-3 for most of the Summer. I packed up a zillion outfits in that size!

My DS is 1 month and he's wearing 3-6 month clothes.

it all depends on the baby My DD was small 5 pds 10 oz and she is now 6 months and fits into 3-6 months and size 3 onsies so it all depends on the baby

I think so. Like some other posters said it really depends on the child. My DS was in newborn up until about 6 weeks and then 0-3 until about 3-4 months. He was 8lbs and 21.5inches when he was born. My DD was 8.13lbs and 21.5inches and was in newborn for maybe a 3 weeks but 0-3 for about 4 almost 5 months.

That's enough until you see how big the baby is.

DS had one NB outfit that I think he wore once - home from the hospital. He was big and still is. He basically started in 0-3 month clothes and at 3.5 months now, he is almost growing out of 6 month clothes

It totally depends on the baby.... Kristina is almost a month old, and she is still in NB clothing... If I try to put her in a 0-3 month outfit - she looks sooooooooooo silly!
