New to this board..need some help/tips/advice/sugg

Forgive me I am a frequent poster...but not ready to let people IRL who are on here that I have begun to TTC...again.

I didn't have trouble conceiving my kiddies (2) but now I having issues I didn't have when I had them.

Little background. My dc is now just over 2 and breastfed for a year. My AF was all over the place, after i stopped understandably.

But for a couple of months I was having it for 3 weeks. Light for a week, reg for a week, then light for a week. It was annoying. My gyn dr put me on BC for 3 months to fix it (we both chose this the less invasive way instead of a DNC... ESP since I wanted another Chat Icon

Well it didn't work. In fact it got worse..when I wasn't having my period, I was spotting the other 3 weeks...

The gyn told me since I wanted to try TTC to see if it fixes itself naturally or go on another pill. Well it has gotten "better" bec I spot here and there on my "off" 3 weeks but def not the whole time. Whoohoo

My question for you ladies...what is the chance of me conceiving ... This will be the start of my 2nd month trying..

Anyone spot irregularly and still conceived?? I havent even gotten into charting and Ovulation kits...figured I'd wait another month or two..

For now my dh and I are BDing every other day and when I am not spotting..lol..but I will be impressed if we can keep that up Chat Icon

If you have read this far I applaud you and thank you.
Looking for any tips/suggestions...

I don't know much about spotting but, did your gyn tell you that you were still O'ing? If that's the case then I don't see why you should have problems becoming Preggers.

Good luck to you on your journey. Maybe you shoudl consider using an OPK and/or temping(which will confirm Ovulation)
Keep BD-It cant hurt

i agree that you should try using an OPK to see if you are ovulating. i know several people who had crazy cycles of bleeding every other week and still got pregnant so it's definitely possible. but only if you are ovulating.

Second, if you aren't sure if you're ovulating, I would not wait to use an OPK. If for some reason you aren't ovulating, you just find that out sooner rather than later. I know there are plenty of women on here who have funky, unpredictable cycles who still conceive, so I wouldn't worry about that. But definitely figure out if you are ovulating.

I totally agree here. I would start using the OPK's - it will give you better piece of mind and help you to know you arent wasting your time, energy and BDing, lol!

Also what BC pill were you on? I was on one that gave me very strange periods (when I always had 28 day normal). I think depending on the pill, it can sometimes make matters worse.

OK well hang in there and good luck!

I was on Levora...my gyn swore by it...of course...lol...I was never on that before marriage, babymaking years...I was always on Ortho Tri (6+ yrs ago)

I will def get the OPK ... where do you get that...can you get that at a walgreens/cvs??

any specific brand you ladies recommend!

Thank you so much ladies! It amazes me how my body can have two kids no *real problems..and then be so different 4 yrs later...But then again I was on BC from college until 4 months before we conceived so I guess my body doesnt know how to handle not pregnant/breastfeeding/BC free!

I started using the Clearblue Easy Digital OPK. The one that gives you a smiley face if you are about to O. I don't thik I didn't think I'd be any good at interpreting lines, etc.

How long are your cycles, on average? The instructions will tell you which CD to start testing on. So I would count the first day of a heavy flow as CD1, and go from there, even if you are still spotting when you start using the OPK's.

Definitely don't wait b/c if you later find out there was something wrong that could be easily addressed you'll be kicking yourself for wasting these months. And if you find out that you are O'ing on your own it will take a lot of the stress/pressure off TTC for you. Chat Icon Chat Icon

I find clear blue easy digital opk to be the easiest to read. You can get one @ CVS, rite aid, ect but its cheaper if you get it on Amazon.com

Thank you so much..that is what I need someone to tell me exactly what to do...So I will go look today! but I prob wont be starting until the first/second week of April...which isnt that far away i guess!

As far as my cycles... I have NO idea! the last 4.5 yrs..I have either been pregnant or breastfeeding...or been bleeding non-stop..HAHAH....and before that I was on BC...I guess my body is mad at me! HAHA!

So I guess I am totally NOT in tune with my body! I prob should start doing that!

When i get my AF this coming month I will def start to chart and track to try to see what is going on!

Thank you for the advice! If the OPK doesnt work..I will def put a call into my dr to see if he can help me determine if I "O" or not!

IDK about that stuff bc I'm not a dr. But I would suggest getting a 2nd opinion or even going to a specialist to pinpoint what the issue is.

Good Luck!
