So so so excited to have you join us over here.
There really isn't a whole lot you will have to avoid (I learned the hard way from the ladies on here reminding me over and over again). If you want hot dogs, get all beef nitrate free - they are VERY hard to find, but places like Fairway has them. Cold cuts they say to stay away from, unless you heat it up to steaming, raw fish, and alcohol. There are things to limit - like fish, caffeine, etc.
You might find in the beginning you can't really eat a whole heck of a lot anyway because of MS and aversions.
Good luck!

DH is the same way. My doctor actually has not given me a list of foods to avoid (she's pretty loosey goosey). I haven't had caffeine since a week before getting my BFP, and honestly, I am just getting my appetite back so the foods to avoid wasn't that hard.

Re: new on this side (bfp)
Congratulations! When I called my OB, they gave me a general list of things to "avoid"..
- Non-pasteurized cheese - Raw meat, sushi, etc. - Limit caffeine to 200mg a day (so you can still have a cup a day)
..etc.

just be careful going forward with tea - it can have more caffeine then coffee, and some herbal teas are bad

If you are used to caffeine every day, do NOT just cut it out cold turkey. I get extreme migraines, from both lack of caffeine and hormones. A little bit is ok!
Congratulations and good luck!

Congrats!
As for foods, I avoid cold cuts (unless heated), raw or undercooked meat, certain fish (check a reliable site like fda.gov or americanpregnancy.org), unpasterized cheese, pates. Hot dogs are okay if well cooked. I avoid or seriously limit caffeine in the first trimester and after that I do a cup a day but that's personal preference.

Re: new on this side (bfp)
you can do nitrate free hotdogs. Cold cuts are ok as long as you heat them up to the point of steaming. Minimal caffeine, fish in moderation, I think 10 oz. a week is ok - no raw stuff. Only pasteurized cheeses are safe. My doctor told me no tuna but I know not every doctor says that. I can't remember what else.
