New Mothers - do you find time to work out?

Summer is right around the corner and I'd like to get back into shape but I just can't seem to find the time. Our home is a constant mess. I feel like I am barely washing DS's bottles. Whenever I have a free chance, I try to catch up on sleep.

If you do work out, do you go to the gym or work out at home? Can you recommend some exercise videos?

I walk very fast to and from the train, that is my workout. That is about it, I am to tired to work out in the AM or PM and the weekends I like to spend as much time with DD and DH as possible. Now that it is nicer I will also be taking DD out for more walks on the weekend.

I go on weekends and after DH comes home from work.

Or a nice walk with DD does the trick Chat Icon

I bought a exercise bike from Walmart.com (it was less than $130). I try to get in 30-40 minutes while the girls are up playing right next to me and I try to get another 40-60 minutes in when they go to bed.

Re: New Mothers - do you find time to work out?

no time to work out! please! i have clean clothes stuffed in laundry bag waiting to be folded, i have folded clothes in a basket waiting to be put away.. and then of course there is food shopping etc.. the list never ends.

breast feeding has been doing wonders for me though! i believe it burns 500 calories. i've been eating better so i've been maintaining myself.

on nice days i try to walk with the stroller.. that is though..

My mom came over yesterday and just shook her head. She folded 4 loads of laundry for us! I just couldn't find the time to fold it so we've been grabbing clean clothes from the laundry basket. Sad..I know.

I tried to walk as much as possible after DS was born. When he was 6 months old I joined a gym with a childcare center, but didn't follow through the way I should have Chat Icon

DH takes Jacob for an hour a few times a week so I can work out. I do fitness DVDs (ideally) every other day.

Re: New Mothers - do you find time to work out?

With 2 kids I don't have the time to go to the gym in the afternoon or at night so I go at 5:30am 3 x week.

Re: New Mothers - do you find time to work out?

its so hard.... i try to walk with stroller every day and do crunches with ds sitting on top of me...i would love to join the gym and do spinning classes etc.. but i don't feel comfy leaving ds at gym daycare he is 9 months. you might think this is super 90"s but i actually love the cindy crawford videos, after i do them i feel like i can't walk the next day, they really kick my butt.

Re: New Mothers - do you find time to work out?

After DD was born I bought a treadmill and I run and she likes to watch me..lol

I also joined another gym that is close to my job so I workout on my dinner hour.

I also use my Wii fit alot and take DD on walks, now on the boardwalk, she loves the fresh air and I get my exercise :)
