He is ADORABLE!! Congratulations!!!   I hope you feel better. I too had a miserable recovery so please feel free to FM me anytime!
As for the peanut shell, I have it and love it. What did you want to know? Just slip it over your head and you're all set! That little cloth that comes with it is a burp cloth, BTW. I had no idea what the heck it was. 
As for pumping, I found THIS SITE to be the absolute BEST on just about anything. Good luck!!! Enjoy every minute!

He is precious. He has your eyes I think.
I had to pump from the beginning b/c G was so early my milk had not dropped yet. I pumped for 20 minutes every 2 hours. Once my milk came in well enough I continued to pump for 30 - 40 minutes every 3 hours.
