New here and question

Hi everyone! Wish you all lots if luck and hope you all get that bfp soon!

DH and I decided to start ttc recently. I stopped birth control pills about 3 months ago, had my last period on bc on November 8. Then had a regular 28 day cycle off bc. I was due for af on January 3. Still waiting and took hpt yesterday with a bfn. So far this cycle has been 52 days long. I know it can take a few months for hormones to regulate but I feel like this cycle has been going on forever.


Just wanted to get some input about how long it took for your cycles to regulate after stopping bc and what your longest cycles were. I know it's personal but any input is appreciated.

I haven't been on BC for over 10 years so i can't answer your question, but i wanted to say welcome and Good luck!!

First, welcome and good luck! When I got off BC, my first cycle was 29 days, the next was 32. But they have not been regular since then and some have been longer. I know from reading these boards that it is normal for it to take time to regulate after coming off BC. If it makes you feel better though, maybe you can call your doc if you go another week without getting your period.

ETA: my longest cycle was 45 days, but that was after a chemical, so I'm not sure it counts. My longest besides that was 36.

my first cycle off BC took 45 days and ever since then they've been getting a little shorter each time.

I know it's a complete PITA, the waiting game... and even worse, everyone's different so it's hard to compare

When I came of BC in Dec '11, my cycles regulated right away. AF came on schedule in Jan '12 and every month since then. My cycles are 29-31 in length.

However, DH and I have been actively TTC since July '12 and nada yet!!

Welcome. Some people take a while to regulate after BC. I regulated right away and was very surprised. I have heard if you don't get your period in 60 days to see your doctor. Good luck.

Thanks Ladies, going to make an appt with my OB tomorrow to get her imput since I know my appt wont be for at least a couple weeks.
