New here and Question?
Hi! I just wanted to introduce myself and say Hi! I have been off BC since last June but actively trying for 6 months. I have been using OPK's for the last 4 months. I have two questions and was hoping you girls could help.
1. I got a positive OPK today at like 5pm but my DH will be working till tomorrow so no BD'ing til then. And i was away this weekend so no BD'ing the last few days either. If we BD tomorrow and the next few days is that ok or MUST you BD on the day of the positive. Or should I count this month as a wash.
2. Also, since I have been off birth control for a year now and nothing should I seek some more help or wait till we have been actively trying for 1 year.
Thanks for all your advice in advance! I know you girls are the ones to ask about this stuff!
(Oh Yeah Me and DH are both 31)
Thanks so much again!

Re: New here and Question?
Welcome!
Ideally, you want to BD a day or so before and then the 3 days following the +OPK. In theory, you want the sperm there before the egg is released.
Usually a +OPK means you are going to ovulate in 12-36 hours, so you are definitely still in it. Definitely BD the next 3 days, if you can't tonite, tomorrow morning will be good.
As far as when to see a Dr, I think they want you to actively try for 12 months. A perfectly healthy couple can take 6-12 months to conceive. However, if you feel something isn't quite right, trust your instincts and see a dr.
Have you been charting? Are you ovulating?

Re: New here and Question?
Thanks! I am not a sound sleeper at all. I toss and turn a lot and not sure how that would affect the readings. I do get positive OPK's around CD15 pretty consistently but I guess I can't really confirm without temping huh?

I'm not a sound sleeper either. I also have a DD that I check on the monitor throughout the night. My temps come out fine. I usually take them around 5:30ish.
You could try to temp. It'll be obvious if your sleep pattern affects your temps because they will be all over the place.

Re: New here and Question?
Thanks, I guess I'll have to give temping a try. Should I start now or wait till next cycle to start?

Re: New here and Question?
Probably should wait until your next cycle because you may not get the thermal shift you are looking for because you are about to ovulate.
Hopefully you will get pregnant this cycle and you won't have to temp at all!
