new here
hi everyone! i am not officially TTC yet but i am pretty anal and trying to plan everything out as much as i can. ideally, i would like to get PG in september. i am currently on birth control and have been for about 8 years. when do you think i should see my gyno for pre natals? when should i come off birth control and start tracking my cycle and waiting for it to right itself? pre-birth control my cycles were very sporadic. thanks so much for any advice you can give me. i am totally new at this and though i do lurk on this board, i am pretty clueless.

I would see him/her and get started on that - you could even do an OTC and get a Rx the next time you see him/her...

If you've been on bc for 8 yrs and your pre-bc cycles were sporadic, IMHO I would come off starting your next cycle and keep track... this way you can have an idea as to how long/short your cycles are and you can be more prepared to speak with your GYN when you're ready to... like you, I am very particular about the way things are planned out. When you come off of bc, just use an alternative form of bc... just in case - because you may be one of the lucky ones to get pg in the first three months... you never know
GOOD LUCK and WELCOME!!! I hope your stay is short and sweet!
FM me if you have any questions...

Welcome! I don't have much to add as Nikole seems to have provided the same advice I would have. I would encourage finding another form of contraceptive once you come off the pill, because you never know .

Welcome!! I would try and talk to your dr in the next couple of months and see when you should come off BCP. When I spoke to mine I shocked to here that different pills take different amount of time to regulate AF once you stop. They would be able to tell you how long you should stop based on what pill you are taking. Once you stop BCP I would start pre-natals. Good Luck!
