Hello Ladies!

Well I came across this website while searching for some answers on the net.

My husband and I have been TTC for four months now. It is the most frustrating, depressing, and painful thing ever. I never imagined that my husband and I would encounter this problem since this is not our first time TTC. Two years ago I was off BC for about 2 months and we became pregnant earlier then expected with twins. I miscarried a week before my husband deployed (he is active duty in the USMC). I was devestated and so was he. After this incident was very reluctang in TTC again. Plus as soon as my husband got home from deployment we knew that he was going to be deploying again, which he did four months after he got home. I refuse to give birth to our first while he is gone. I want my husband to be a part of the most precious moment in our lives.
I must say that I was also reluctant because I was terrified of the same thing happening again. I just don't know if I can handle that tragedy again.
This is the perfect opportunity for my husband and I. He won't be deploying for about 2 years, so I said "Let's do this! Let's make a baby!" I let my wall down and NOTHING! Absolutely NOTHING! I don't know what to think now. I mean I heard my friends stories about how they have been trying for months and all I kept thinking was that I wouldn't have that problem when I finally decided to give it the go. I would just say that "I knew I wouldn't have a hard time in TTC since it happned so quickly the first time around." Here I am now biting my tongue.
All I want is a little miracle. To be a mother and to give my husband his wish of fatherhood. But now that I want this more then ever God won't give me my miracle. I pray and hope. In the end I know that all I can do is keep my faith. And I know that it has only been four months, but I just feel like time is running out for me.

well first of all welcome!! we all know how difficult and frustrating TTC can be. but these ladies are a wealth of information!! i hope your stay here is short and sweet and you move onto the pregnancy board quickly!

First off, I'm so sorry for your losses.

I hope this isn't too personal but were your twins identical or fraternal? I have heard that sometimes women with PCOS become pregnant with twins since they may release more than 1 egg... but I have also seen PCOS as a risk factor for m/c. Do you have any symptoms of PCOS?

We all know how frustrating TTC can be. I tried for over a year before seeing an RE... and we're now at 18-19 months of trying... so I feel your pain and frustration. I never thought we'd have a problem either since we are both young and healthy.

A few other personal questions...

How old are you?
What methods have you been using to TTC? (just winging it? going based on cycle length? using OPKs?, etc)

No, I have not done any testing yet. I/we figured that we will give it six months and if nothing happens between that time then I will go to my family doctor.

My twins, as I was told, seemed to share the same sac, which meant that they would have been identical. I was told that 50% of identical twins end up in m/c. Don't know how true that is :-/. I never researched it because frankly I just wanted to leave it up to God. Only hw knows why things happen and only he knows what is best for my husband and I.
I am 27 yrs old and my husband is 24 yrs old. I know that my chances have gone down a bit. I know that I only have a 20% chance of conceiving, which is why I now regret waiting.
I have been going based on cycle length. It has been a little whacky though. I got off BC in January. I got two AF that month because I stopped it like 4 pills in. From Jan to Feb my cycle was 30 days. From Feb to March it was 32 days. And from March to April it was 34 days. I really thought I was pregnant this time around since I was far out and was spotting. But it was only AF.
I bought a OPK this time from Clear Blue. I am planning on basing it off my 32 day cycle since I have only been off BC for four months. I am crossing my fingers that it will work.

Okay, identical twins are generally a "fluke" - meaning there's not really a known genetic component....

PCOS is polycystic ovarian syndrome. I only mentioned it because I just heard of a link between that and twins, but yours were identical so that doesn't even apply.

I think that using an OPK is a great idea! The CBE digitals are great because you'll get a smiley when you're having your LH surge. BD that night and the next 3 nights and you should be good!

As far as your age, you're in the PERFECT age range! Your chances don't go down at age 27... so stay positive!
