Never had a "mommy" phase

DS is just about 2 and it does kind of bother me I never hear him call out "Mommy"
He knows I'm mommy when you ask where's mommy. He'll point to me. He says mommy, but not to me a lot. Kind of bothers me.
He says lots of words too. When he sees daddy he says "Daddy!"
he'll say "Papa" for my father and "Sisa" for my mom. She's Grandma Lisa, but he calls her SIsa.
My MIL he'll say "Nana" sometimes. Doesn't really say anything for my FIL.

When he's whining or upset he wants to go to me, but he whines for me. He'll put his arms out for hugs and kisses. Gets excited when I pick him up and I do spend the most time with him even though I'm a FTWM.
I guess it bothers me he'd rather whine then say "Mommy"

DS is 18 months and mama means I want it. Everything is da. He calls DH da dee.

My DD says Mommy but not much..All I EVER hear is Daddy Daddy Daddy.. When she sees his car pull up "Daddy". She even wakes in the AM and asks "wheres my Daddy". She also asks for Granma and Granpa alot too...

DS is 21 mos and doesn't call me Mommy either.

He just started calling DH Daddy. It started out as "a-da-did", which was beyond cute. Everytime DH would walk into the room, I point to him and say, "Daddy!!", so he caught on.

Then I realized no one does that when I walk into a room, so how would he learn my name? I'm just that lady who consoles him, bathes him, plays with him, puts him to bed...

He has only said "Mama" once on his own last week when inlaws were visiting, and he was having a crying fit. He didn't want them and only wanted me. So he knows how, he just hasn't felt the need to say it.

DS is with my mom all week, and doesn't call her much either. So I dont think being a FTWM factors into it much. When we asked him who she was, he'd point his finger and say "No,No,No". Hey, at least he's learning something!
