Neutrogena products
I was skimming through a preggo magazine last night and saw that using products with 2% salcylic acid could potentially cause birth defects.
Umm.. I've been using neutrogena products (face wash, body wash, and body spray) ALL THE TIME!
Is this bad? lol My doctor never mentioned anything about skin products. He just said to avoid certain foods/drinks and cat liter.
Should I be concerned? lol

Re: Neutrogena products
I've used it in all my pregnancies and never had a problem. I think it falls into the category of 'don't drink a gallon of it' otherwise you'll be ok.

Neutrogena products
ok just googled it and that one only has .5%. I would check each product you use on the neutrogena website and click on "drug facts" You might be OK.

my derm and OB told me not to use salcyclic acid or benzoyl peroxide while pregnant or nursing as it is absorbed into the body so i switched to aveeno products - dont stress though, just find something else to use for now - im sure its fine :)

I used the Neutrogena Grapefruit Facewash for most of my pregnancy until people on here freaked me out about it. My doctor never said anything about it and when I asked she said I was fine... I did switch to something Burt's Bees made just for my own sanity... but DS is fine, no birth defects.
