Can I use Neutrogena acne products?
I use Neutrogena stress control face wash and their breakout pads with salicylic acid 2%... is that ok?

Definitely ask your doc - mine said salycilic acid is fine.

Re: Can I use Neutrogena acne products?
I just researched this last night b/c these hormones are making me break out. I did read that we shuold avoid salycillic acid and retinols, retin-a products, but that glycolic acid was ok, as were MOST over the counter face washes.

Definitely ask your doctor. My doctor is pretty laid back about everything and he told me not to take anything for my allergies and nothing with salycilic acid in it but each doctor is different.

This is not necessarily true.
Really this is one of those things that every dr will tell you something different, so in the end you have to do what you feel most comfortable with. Salicylic acid/benzoyl peroxide are harmful in extremely large quantities. In over the counter face washes there is only 2% in the bottle which is practically nothing, and it's only really going on a very small surface area of your body. My OB and lots of other say it's fine, my OB actually rolled her eyes at me when I asked her which was pretty funny. I used the same Biore anti-acne face wash my entire pg that I always used. My baby was fine.
But, you'll find lots of docs that are super conservative and don't want you to do anything like that, so it's up to you and your doc. Same thing with hair dye, caffeine, alcohol, deli meats, etc. The list goes on and on, do what you feel comfortable.

Re: Can I use Neutrogena acne products?
my doctor said she didn't recommend it, but since i do deal with breakouts, i did some research and found Mychelle products, which you can buy at Wild by Nature or online. It was created by a skincare person who was pregnant, dealing with acne. I use the face wash/serum that has sal acid, but a natural version of it. I only use the serum once a day, and the products really agree with me.
