Nerve damage from pregnancy
Did anyone experience nerve damage from giving birth? Dd will be 8 weeks soon and I still feel tingling and burning sensation in my left leg. My dr is sending me to see a neurologist but thinks its nerve damage from the pregnancy and giving birth.

Re: Nerve damage from pregnancy
YES! I had whats called "foot drop"!!! Its nerve damage that affects the ability to flex your foot and move it left to right. It also causes numbness from the knee down.
It was caused from them pushing my leg too far back and me not being to feel it because of the epi! After birth I was trying to move my foot and I couldnt, everything felt numb. I thought the epi didnt wear off yet. The next day I still couldnt move it and I was numb from the knee down.
It took months of PT but Im at 100% again.
Good luck!!!! It doesnt sound like we had the same thing but hopefully yours will go away like mine did!

Re: Nerve damage from pregnancy
I had nerve issues all throughout pregnancy, and they lingered for about 6-8 months. Eventually, they went away on their own.
My issues were carpal tunnel in both hands, completely numb fingers, complete numbness in my left thigh, and frequent "dead leg".

I had something similar but it turned out to be Raynaud's Syndrome. I still have it three years later but it started during the pregnancy.

A mom from my son's daycare did but she was actually paralyzed for a several months.
They said it was from the angle of her leg during labor. PT helped tremendously. She is able to walk fine now.

Re: Nerve damage from pregnancy
Definitely see a neurologist. You can also see a surgeon that specializes in nerve injury.
