Need your help ladies... anyone have a low progesterone issue?

Just when I was starting to get excited about POAS this weekend... my results came back from my progesterone test. On CD 22-when I thought I Od on CD 18-It was at 6 :(

He wants me to come in for an endometrial biopsy because he thinks I never ovulated. The weird thing is that I had rediculous O symptoms... EWCM for a few days, O pains, etc...
Is it possible to have all those symptoms and never O?

My reg Dr is away so I had to deal with the one that I cant stand...

Im so confused and dont know WTH is going on.


Since then I've been having weird pangs in both sides of my lower abdomen and today I was cramping like AF is on her way. She's due Sunday.

Can anyone shed any light?

do you temp?
that is the way you can know for sure..you see a rise in your morning temp buy a few tenths of a degree.

also, the doctor can do an ultrasound and see what ovary actually ovulated..they can tell even after you get your period.. so an ultrasound is all you should need to see if you ovulated...

biopsy is to check your uterine lining and to "date" the lining to see if its thickness is in line with what it should be on a certain time in your cycle, usually during the luteal phase. thickness issues can be a result of low progesterone...or other things for that matter..

I started temping after what I thought was my O day.. only b/c I wanted to have the hang of it before I tested a full month.

your response does help.. I just cant imagine that with all the symptoms I had that I didnt O.
Now I have to wait until Thursday to see my Dr.

Those temps don't tell you anything. You'd only know if you ovulated if you temped for a week before ovulation and then for days afterwards. You'd see a pattern like: 97.5, 97.5, 97.6, 97.4, 97.5, 97.4, 98.3, 98.4, 98.3, etc... A big jump is what tells you that you ovulated.

As for your symptoms, it sounds like your body was gearing up to ovulate and then didn't get that "push" to actually do it. That happens pretty commonly, I think, due to stress, travel, etc. I'm an extreme case because I have PCOS, but I'll have EWCM for days and even get a positive OPK and then still not ovulate for 40 more days, or even at all. But like I said, I have underlying hormonal issues and you don't - I just wanted to let you know that it's possible to have O symptoms and not O.

Maybe you did O after that blood test was taken, you never know. In which case you'd get AF 10-15 days after that (probably late this month for you). Good luck!

That is so reassuring!! Thank you! I know Id only be able to see anything if I temp for a whole month.. but I may have Od later. I just don't know. In any case, I guess I'll wait to speak to my Dr.

Thanks for letting me know that O symptoms are possible without actually Oing.
My cycles are not irregular. I am anywhere from 28-32 days and Ive never missed a cycle in my life. I think Im just in shock by what my dr suggested to me.

you can def have O symptoms without Oing. "O symptoms"" are almost as elusive and meaningless as "2WW symptoms." while EWCM is a true symptom, other cramps or really any other feelings are in no way confirmation that O actually occurred. as the PP said, with PCOS it is completely common to have O symptoms and not O.

also unfortunately the temps wont tell you anything at all if you didnt start until after assumed O time.

as far as progesterone goes, a 6 may still indicate ovulation. especially if you think you only O'ed a few days prior to the test.
