S.O.B.'s

8000 bazillion times better than G & G.

also

ETA: I *think* Sequoia in the seaport also has a dinner hour before it turns into a club, but I would actually eat at Cabana's first, then go to Sequoia after 10 or 11 pm.

Lorelei on Rivington in the Bowery serves german food in the beer garden, and has a lounge inside on the lower floor.

not sure what kind of feel you are going for or where you taste lies.

I also like Xunta tapas bar...nice light food, great sangria, live entertainment, bar scene later on, but no dancing...unless you are me and enjoy flamenco Chat Icon Chat Icon

Sala is another tapas bar with a few locations. the one on the Bowery has a lounge with music in the basement, but is often closed off for private events, so call ahead.

what else...I'll try to think of more. it's kind of on my brain since my bday is coming.

Iguana's on 54th St Between Broadway and 8th is nice if you like Mexican. Good food, busy bar and dancing downstairs later.
