Need opinions on this name please
I know we all may not have the same taste so please be easy when giving your opinion lol.
Dh and I like unisex names for girls. Dd is Emerson Leigh. We are team green again this time and so far the front runner for a girl name is Tristen Brooke. I love it. Dh likes it. Most friends/family like it but a few hate it and I am torn. What is your feeling on the name Tristen Brooke?

I love it. I think it's very unique and can be a unisex name. My husband's coworker has a son named Tristen. If you and your hubby like it that's all that matters. My first daughter is named Leah (pronounced Lee-ah). When she was born my MIL insisted on calling her "lay-ah" because she liked it better.

I'm a teacher and I have a female Tristan this year, and last year I had a male Tristen. I don't think it's one or the other.

I like Tristan, but not the Brooke part. To me the Brooke throws it off, I'd look for a different middle name.
(But, I have to say that Tristan always makes me think of Brad Pitt's character in Legends of the Fall, which is my favorite movie and love Brad, so that's not a bad thing...)

I've only heard it for a boy, but I actually like it for a girl. I think it sounds pretty.
Aubrey (DD's name) is actually considered a unisex name, but in the US most people don't associate with a boy.

Okay I'm going to sound really confusing. I think it sounds too much like a boy name. But on the other hand I always thought it sounded too feminine for a boy name as well. I guess you can say I'm not 100% about the name either way. I do like the name Brooke.
I think your DD name Emerson is very cute. Do people consider that unisex as well. I only think girl when I hear that name.

Personally, I do not like the name Tristan. I have only heard the name used for a boy as pp mentioned. I agree that it sounds more masculine then unisex BUT if you love the name then you should use it.

I like it but I too love unisex, different names, My DD is Emerson Avery and my DS is Grayden Keller............I got lots of interesting reactions to those names but we like them so it's all that matters.
I say go for it!!!

Traditionally Emerson is actually a boys name. But over the past few years it seems to be getting popular for girls. It was so uncommon when I named my DD in 2008 but I'm seeing the name a lot now.

I like Tristen, but I just imagine it spelled "Tristan" or "Tristian"...something about the e is throwing it off for me.
And particular reason you chose that spelling?
