Need NYC steakhouse suggestions - UPDATE
DH's 30th birthday is coming up and we're celebrating it with friends. We tend to go to steakhouses for birthday dinners since that's what the guys really like. I don't want to go to a chain steakhouse and I'd like to go somewhere we haven't been yet. We've been to Wolfgang's, The Palm, and Old Homestead. I also don't really care for Smith & Wollensky's.
Which steakhouses are your favorite? I was thinking of going to Peter Luger in Brooklyn, but we've been to the one on LI several times and are going there with my parents for DH's birthday. Has anyone been to both Peter Luger restaurants? Are they much different and is the Brooklyn one worth going to? Thanks.
Update: We went to the Strip House on Saturday and it was fantastic. I loved the atmosphere and everything was great. A few of us agreed that we still like Old Homestead a little better, but this was a great place to go. Thanks everyone for the suggestions.

The Brooklyn one is definitely worth going to but if you want to stick with Manhattan, go to the Strip House. It is FANTASTIC!!!

i heard the nyc craftsteak sucks.... by some employees actually!
even though its a chain, Ruths Chris is by far my favorite.
del friscos is nice too.
and then there peter lugars

Kean's Steakhouse on W 36th Street is very good.
I also want to recommend Plataforma Churrascaria - it's a Brazillian style restaurant. Everything was outrageously delicious. We went there for DH's birthday last year and we all really enjoyed our meal.

We actually went to Churrascaria Plataforma last year for DH's birthday. It was great.
Thanks ladies. I've heard of all of these places, but I wasn't sure which one to go to. Keept the suggestions coming.

The Palm Westside is probably my #1 choice these days. DelFrisco's is great as well.
I love Sparks..you can't go wrong.
A smaller place that doesn't get much hype is Maloney & Porcelli. They have great steaks and seafood. In fact their cold seafood appetizer is excellent.
Love the ribeye and porterhouse..great wine list.

Thank you for the suggestions. I tried Peter Luger's in Brooklyn first, but they didn't have anything available (unless we wanted to eat at 3pm or 11pm). I made a reservation at Strip House. I'll let you know how it is.

Loved this steakhouse. I thought it was better than Nick & Stef's and DelFrisco's.
Also high marks on the Plataforma Churrascaria. We went a few weeks ago.
