Need Ideas for a ....
Baby shower gidt basket... I want to do somethign different. Put a gift basket together of different things... This is her third child , a boy . But she hasn't had a baby in 9 years!!!!! Please help with ideas...

How about a bedtime basket? Full of Pj's, bedtime story books, etc.
Also, you could do a clothesline of all baby clothes!

Has she registered? I usually get the "smaller" items and put them together in a basket if they're off a registry.
Otherwise, I would get onesies with a wide-range of sizes (newborn - one year)...blanket, towel, etc.

Buy the baby bathtub off of her registry and put all of the bath stuff in it. Maybe a baby robe and towel too.

I would get a couple of little things but stick to a theme.. like bath time.. maybe a robe, soap, a rubber ducky, towel.... or sleep time theme: books, blanket, pj's...

she probably needs everything, onesies, bibs, washcloths, towels, burpcloths. a lot of that stuff gets ruined with each kid and ends up being thrown out.

what about getting stuff for both the mom and the baby...
like for the baby...
onesies
baby nail clippers
diaper rash cream
etc
for the mom:
cocoa butter/body bars
perhaps a neck pillow (one that you can microwave)
how about a really soft nightshirt

The Miracle Blanket - bit $$ but worth it
A bottle of after baby wine to drink
Some nice Lotion for mommy and baby...Burts Bees, Aveeno, Kiehls...something ncie they wouldnt buy themselves...
Subscription to Parents or Parenting Magazine.

I gift I like to give for first birthdays is this
Colored galvenized pale - personalized.
Personalized beach towel or beach wrap.
Baby Sunglasses
Bathing Suit
Plastic Sand Toys
You can baby sun/spf products too.
It could work at a baby shower, esp if you know the sex of the child.
I get the personalized stuff from Potterybarnkids.com. They have great things...it might give you inspiration for something else.
