need help with getting around nyc by subway
Is anyone knowledgeable with the subways?
I need to get to East 72nd and York (near the hospital)
We are taking LIRR to Penn.
Is there a train that will get me close to my destination?

Take the E train Uptown/Queens Bound to 53rd Street & Lexington Avenue. Transfer to the Uptown 6 train to 68th St/Hunter College - then walk East to York, North to 72nd.
hopstop.com may have alternative suggestions.

This would be my suggestion too, otherwise you'll need to take the 42nd street shuttle, which I hate.

it actually may be easier for you to take the bus, there is one that goes crosstown and then up york - i did that when i had to go visit my grandmother. good luck!

You can take the 1 train uptown to 72nd street and take the crosstown bus. I lived up there and have tried all the ways...non are better than the others...but this is another suggestion.

its annoying but the best way to go is take the E train (you dont have to walk outside, you get the train in penn) uptown /queens train to 53rd and lexington ..follow signs for the 6 train when you get off its about a 5-10 min walk depending how slow/fast you walk ... take the 6 train uptown to 68th street
