Need help! How to dispose of old kitchen knives
DH and I just recieved a brand new full set of kitchen knives for the holidays. We have an old mis-matched set that we want to now get rid of. Does anyone have any input on what we should do? Have you had this issue before?
I know if we toss them in the garbage to wrap them in cardboard and duck tape to make sure there is no issue. But I still dont feel safe doing this. 
Another option is to donate them but I dont know where to donate to!
Help!

Put them in a paper towel roll, seal them up and write KNIVES on it.

Sounds like the best and most convenient idea! How would I put them out for the garbage pick up? On the side in a box so the garbage men know? Have you done this once before?

I've done this and then put them inside of an empty cereal box, sealed it and wrote on the box what was inside.

I never really thoght about this before.
BUT DEF write what it is... I love that idea. because you don't want anyone picking up the garbage in the wrong way and slicing their hands or something. Those accidents happen all the time.
I also wonder if like DSNY or any other garbage company has a site that might give you pointers on how to dispose of items like knives.

This is what I've done in the past. I just throw it in with the rest of the garbage
