Need help from experienced mommies!!!!!!

So, Chelsea is 5 weeks today, and she is normally a really great kid, she sleeps, eats and poops...well as of last night, she HAS NOT SLEPT AT ALL!!!! I can usually get her to go down in the morning in her swing or glider, not today, maybe for 10 minutes max today..she just keeps screaming...
She was a bit constipated for a few days so I helped her along with the thermometer...I've been giving her chamomile tea to try to calm her, NOTHING is working, she is not sleeping and just BEYOND cranky and wailing the second I put her down!!! I took her temperature at least 50 times, and thankfully nothing!!!
ANY HELP would be appreciated, I'm, going to go off the deep end..I haven't had any food since yesterday bc the second I put her down anywhere she starts crying!!!!!
This is sooo unlike her too, which is whats freaking me out the most!!!

She may have some gas. Have you tried Gripe water? This natural remedy worked really well for us! I think it was around 5-6 weeks when we first gave it to the twins.

Good Luck!!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Love the name Chelsea Chat Icon

Have you tried white noise? Maybe running the vaccuum? That seemed to help my Chelsea a lot when she was that age. Chat Icon

Try pushing his legs back and forth if she has gas that will release it. Also with my little guy I actually used a Baby Bjorn when he got that way and he conked out while I was making my lunch. Good Luck and I hope you get some food/rest.

Re: Need help from experienced mommies!!!!!!

My son was an absolute angel the first 5 weeks of his life. Week 6 he was a different child. Wouldn't sleep, always cried, needed to be rocked 24/7. It was a really rough couple of weeks.

Things that helped us were swaddling him for naps and putting him in his crib or bassinet to sleep.

Drives - I drove anywhere and everywhere to get him to sleep. I also remember standing in front of a running faucet because the running water calmed him down. If she gets worked up also try a bath - that may soothe her.

If she likes the stroller and will fall asleep in it - go to the mall and just keep walking!

We also have a white noise machine in the room - they sell it at BRU for about 20bucks.

Do you have the book Happiest Baby on the Block? It was at the 6 week mark where I raided Barnes and Noble for tons of books. This one really helped from 6 weeks to about 3 months. I would also suggest getting Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child. That will make a world of difference too in the upcoming months! Chat Icon

See I'm in the process of changing back to her original formula and I think thats bothering her, the change back!!! I've tried bicyling her legs, we're about to give her a bath to try to calm her, and I have tried Gripe Water...all these things usually help her, but today NOTHING...and I'm also concerned that she hasn't slept AT ALL!

ETA: I have happiest baby on the block, but never had the chance to finish it before she came!
