Need Help... CIO related
I haven't read any books or anything b/c this has become a recent thing.
DS has been STTN since about 4 months. I would lay him on his back, turn on the mobile and within 5 - 10 mins he'd roll over and go to sleep on his own. Usually put him in at 7:30PM and would sleep till 7AM (during the week I'd get him up to take him to daycare)
Since he turned 10 months he's been getting up a few times in the middle of the night crying hysterical and standing in his crib. It started b/c he was teething so we knew we had to comfort him and DH and I would take turns. Now, the teeth are through and he's still getting up. It's been about a month of him doing this. Just get up, stand in the crib, walk around the crib then start to cry. We'd go in and comfort him and he'd fall asleep in my arms (or DH) and then put him back in the crib. Sometimes he gets up a few hours later and sometimes he doesn't.
Any advise? Should I let him CIO? He seems to get sooo worked up he can't calm himself down.
We also want to get a soother to play at night since we took out his mobile since he's standing. There's nothing that plays music. Would that help??

Just a question - does he know how to get down from a standing position yet? My friend's DD used to pull herself up in the crib and then get "stuck" because she didn't know how to let go and lie back down.
If this isn't an issue for you, it may be that he is learning a lot of new things and just trying to process all of his new skills, OR he has gotten used to you coming in when you were going in to comfort him over the past month.
If he isn't acting unusual during the day like anything hurts (thinking ear infection), it might just be that he wants you to come in at night and you might want to experiment with CIO if you want to.

Originally we started going in b/c he was pulling himself up and then getting stuck. Then he learned how to get himself down, but still crying. We took him to the Ped a couple of weeks ago and checked out 100%fine. She did say he's teething so we knew that was the case so we were giving him a little Motrin for the teeth. Now... the teeth are in, he also knows how to get up and down himself. He's just getting used to us coming in

I remember readings lots of mom's on here babies' standing up, and then crying...they have to learn going back down which takes some time...hopefully he'll get through this phase quickly
Oh, and if its not sickness or pain, I would CIO (but I'm all for that)
