Need Heartburn HELP
OMG, I can't even lay down for more then 2 hours without waking up to BURNING heartburn/reflux. Anyone else have it this bad?
Is there anything I can do for relief besides Tums/Maalox?
TIA

Re: Need Heartburn HELP
I feel your pain. It's been horrible for me too. What helps me a lot is sleeping upright. Not totally upright but not flat on my back or side either. I use 2 pillows. Good Luck.

Re: Need Heartburn HELP
Heartburn is my middle name. I have had that since day one and know I'm 14 weeks it does not feel as bad but its always there after i eat something that acts it up more.. It's best to sit up and not lay down right away after you eat and just walk a little to get the digesting moving. Works for me.. Good LUck! Try some peppermint gum it helps. ...

Mylanta worked best for me. Nothing really took it away though.

Re: Need Heartburn HELP
Try to sleep propped up with some pillows. Also I warm cup of milk before bed worked for me most of the time.

my doctor told me i was allowed to take Zantac 150. It relieved the pain enough for me to at least sleep

Re: Need Heartburn HELP
I started taking Zantac 150 twice a day around 2 weeks ago. The reflux is still really bad, though, mostly at night. Even water triggers it , so I'm still popping Tums as well. I'm going to see if they can give me anything stronger when I go back to my GI dr. in a week.

Re: Need Heartburn HELP
Sorry I'm lurking on your board
My aunt went through that with both pregnancies....she had to keep a cup next to her bed because the reflux was so bad.
She's the only one I know who LOST weight while pregnant! She gained after the birth both times cause she was able to eat again!
Good luck!

Re: Need Heartburn HELP
Thank u, Ladies!
I tried propping myself up the past few nights, however, I still wake up with this lovely acidic fluid pooling in the back of my throat. YUM.
I'll try the Zantac and milk suggestions.
Wish me luck.
